Lethal Force shoots to victory in Jubilee
Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) 3yo, 6f
LETHAL FORCE established himself as one of Britain's foremost sprinters after he obliterated the opposition in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, striking out for home two furlongs out with a kick none of his rivals could match.
The four-year-old produced a performance far ahead of anything he had shown to date, including his Hungerford Stakes victory over Strong Suit last year.

Ridden with aplomp by Adam Kirby, Lethal Force picked up £283,550 for the victory, a return almost 40 times the €8,500 he cost trainer Clive Cox at Tattersalls Ireland in September of 2010.
Cox said: "We put blinkers on him last year because he was just looking around a little bit and he clearly showed he had the ability to stay seven.
"Adam was confident today. He just wanted to get a lead. He hit the gates so quickly he found himself in front. He got him composed, found a rhythm and when he did give him a squeeze it was explosive."
The logical next race for the winner would be the Darley July Cup at Newmarket on July 11, but Cox seemed unenthusiastic about the race.
"He's clearly very good at this trip so we'll see how he is when we get him home and plan the rest of the season from there. He's in the July Cup but I'm not sure Newmarket would be his track so we'll have to think about that," he said.
Dual Group 1 winner Society Rock was sent off the 4-1 favourite following his York victory, but was slowly away and had a lot of ground to make up when Lethal Force, always prominent, kicked two from home.
Society Rock's jockey Kieren Fallon sent his mount in pursuit of Lethal Force in vain. Kirby had picked his moment to perfection and his mount had responded with irresistable acceleration.
Trainer James Fanshawe said: ""We beat the winner at York and they are clearly the top two [sprinters] at the moment. I hope to have him at his best and ready for Newmarket."
Globetrotter Krypton Factor, who was sixth behind Black Caviar in this race last year, did the overseas raiders proud by outrunning his odds to finish third at 25-1.
Bahrain-based trainer Fawzi Abdulla Nass said: "I'm pleased enough and he should come on plenty for that as it's his first run since March. He's in the July Cup and that's the plan as long as he gets his ground - he wants it fast."
