A 100-1 winner of the 2010 Nunthorpe Stakes at York, the six-year-old has since proved that Group One triumph was no fluke with a number of superb efforts in defeat at the highest level.
He performed admirably at the Dubai Carnival in March and the County Meath handler is looking forward to seeing his stable star return to competitive action, with the likely fast ground right up his street.
Lynam said: "He's very fresh and well at the moment so we felt we wanted to get a run into him now.
"There are plenty of runners and there should be plenty of pace, hopefully.
"All going well, this will be a stepping stone to the Temple Stakes at Haydock later in the month and then hopefully Royal Ascot after that."
Spirit Quartz is one of three horses running for leading owners Qatar Racing. The others are David Barron's Pearl Secret and the David Brown-trained Fire Eyes.
