Kilbeggan has added 54 stables in a new stable yard and extended the horse box parking area, greatly improving facilities for trainers and stable staff.
Killarney’s investment will feature a complete upgrade to the Maurice O’Donoghue stand, the sponsors’ bar and upgrades to the stable yard area.
Roscommon has created a new entrance building and re-located 12 stables as the first part of a series of improvements which will carry on throughout the year.
Sligo’s re-development will feature a completely new grandstand, providing
facilities for the racing public, corporate guests and racecourse members. There will also be significant improvements to the weigh-room area for jockeys and officials.
Tipperary has built a new entrance building, secretary’s office and a pre-parade ring facility in this current round of improvements. This is in addition to the already completed American-style barn with 42 stables.
Each of these developments has been 40% funded through the HRI Racecourse Capital Development Fund. HRI has committed almost €7.5 million towards a total racecourse development spend of €19 million in 2012/2013, which will see new and upgraded facilities at 22 of Ireland’s 26 racecourses.

"Racecourses have responded enthusiastically to the HRI Racecourse Capital Development Scheme with new or upgraded facilities at 22 of Ireland’s 26 racecourses either completed or underway."
