Richard Fahey: El Viento ready

Richard Fahey guides us through his runners on the final day of Glorious Goodwood and elsewhere on Saturday.

We've had a good week at Glorious Goodwood so far with a couple of winners and it would be nice to hit the jackpot in one of the big sprints on Saturday.

I'm quite happy with the draws for my runners in the Robins Farm Stewards Sprint Handicap but these big sprints are lottery races as I've said all season. El Viento should nearly have won this race last year, he was short of room close home when looking as though he was coming with a winning run. He has a good chance.

Arctic Feeling ran well over five furlongs here earlier in the week and the step up to six will suit while Personal Touch is drawn three and I'd expect a low-drawn horse to win. Any more rain would suit my horses and while all have a chance, if I had to pick one I'd be with El Viento, I genuinely thought he should have won last year.

Polski Max is drawn one in the Robins Farm Racing Stewards' Cup and on all known form can't win but rain would help him - as it would Heaven's Guest. I'm a little worried about the draw for him but he's a horse who has really surprised me this year, winning four of his last five races. It's a tough ask for three-year-olds but if I am going to win another Stewards' Cup it will be with a horse like him.

I've three runners in the Fairmont Nursery. Mr Carbonfootprint surprised us a little when winning over six furlongs on debut as we felt he wanted seven. He's a horse who's been very keen which is why we've been patient with him. He's maturing well now, is quite a nice horse and we're hoping he runs a very big race.

Shot In the Sun is quite well handicapped on her form and Sammy Bell is taking another seven pounds off. The same owners also have Latenighrequest in the race and she'd have an each-way chance too. We've a strong team for this but it's very competitive.

Layla's Oasis has run four times for us already but we still really don't know how good she is. She worked the other morning and seems to be a filly who is capable of winning races and while she'll be a big price in the Unison Your Friends At Work Handicap at Doncaster, she's not without a small each-way chance.

Khelmanruns in the Peter Bell Memorial Handicap at Thirsk and more rain would suit him as it's a sharp six furlongs there.

Our Boy Jack has a terrible draw in 15 for the totepool.com Thirsk Summer Cup but it's a very valuable race. It's attracted a strong field as you'd expect but my fellow is very consistent and sure to run his race.

Bandolier runs in the Avia Signs Nursery Handicap at Hamilton and all this horse has been crying out for is a bit of juice in the ground. He gets that for the first time in a low quality race. He could run well at an each-way price.

Meeting In Paris is a colt we like in the McGuire On Fire Maiden Stakes but I'm told William Haggas thinks an awful lot of his runner Yarn. We'll probably finish second to him but I do think my horse will be winning races.

The ground will suit Colybor in the Free Bets @freebets.co.uk Handicap but I'd be more confident if it was over six furlongs. Five at Hamilton will be sharp enough for him but he just got tired on his last run and will have come on for that.

Strange Magic is top weight in the TBA British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap. She loves soft ground and was listed placed as a two-year-old. She's struggled a bit this season but at least she has her ground for the first time.

Our final two runners both go in competitive races towards the end of the card. Ingleby Symphony needs to come back to her best in the HE Stainless Ltd Handicap but will like the ground. We've been waiting for it with her and she'll definitely win again this season.

Cosmic Halo goes in the Margaret Smith Memorial Handicap. He was second at Beverley last time, when one of my charity bets at the Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival, and should go well again but very soft ground would be a concern. He's one who doesn't want much more rain up there.
